Going to the mall with a baby? Leave the stroller behind

posted in: Advice, Lifestyle | 2

It is hard for us to go more than 5 minutes in our local mall, Yorkdale Shopping Centre, without someone stopping us, and asking where they can rent a little pink convertible for their baby.

You see, we don’t roll with a stroller at the mall – we roll with a Step2 Whisper Ride Cruiser (in pink, of course).

We figured out that our little one gets very fidgety in a stroller – and during the cold winter months we visit the mall more in one week that we did in an entire year without a baby – we needed to figure out a way to keep her happy.

She loves her little pink convertible. She loves it so much, that we decided to start taking it to the mall instead of a stroller. Our little one loves it. And, people go crazy with excitement when they see a baby strolling the mall in one. We literally can’t go more than 15 feet without someone commenting on how amazing it is, and asking where they can rent one.

And, one thing you might not know: the handle folds down on the car, making it really easy to put in your trunk.

One of the best things about rolling a mall in the convertible is that there is no storage, which is great for me, and not so good for my wife – it is really hard to shop for much with such limited storage options.

PS: There is a secret parking facility at Yorkdale, which is always empty. We were recently there the weekend before X-Mas, and were able to grab a parking space right next to an entrance – the entire parking scene was obscene, but this lot was empty – except for about 10 cars.

No, this is not the valet entrance – it is the secret entrance.
